Comment:

ok, just the other day, i got the blue screen/ physical memory dump, no big deal, as i have had it before. However, when i restarted, it seems to take ALL of my CPU speed to run just ONE internet browser. So either i have gotten robbed of CPU speed, or something causing my web browser to suck too much speed. Anyone who can help i would be obliged, either post or email me with any info. Thanks, Mike

Typical Windows sludge magnets. You have got something from the internet or e-mail.

You can avoid many of these Windows problems with Linux. Linspire eases the transition for new users

Try going to the command prompt and typing "netstat -a". Will show you all the active connections. If you do this when you are at the desktop with no open windows/programs you should only have maybe 1 or 2 ESTABLISHED connections.

Anything more than that then there is something on the PC, almost always spyware or virus

Another thing you could try is booting the PC into sfae mode with networking (Hold F8 key when starting up PC). If problem goes away with this you will have something in msconfig starting up with PC and causing the problem

Let us know how that goes....
