hi i finally got my computer to boot and install everything while updating and as i was finishing i was trying to do a disk fragment but i cant do it its weird my second hard driver can get defraged but my system one doesnt it says that the (long path name ending with)my\certificate\ is corrupted so i did a chkdsk/f and it says that my hard drive is not a valid windows 2000 disk but its in the fat 32 file system plus i can access everything fine, i can get into my user account and run internet, solitaire (hee hee :p), office everything works good but i cannot do a chkdsk or defrag which i need too cause my files are all scattered around the place on the drive, this only stared doing this yesterday night and i think its cause i was defragging and as it was almost done i blew the fuse ( i had 2 computers printer and internet modem into the same 6 pluger xP so it shut down the computer imeaditly obviously so i think i got bad clusters and what not can some one please help me tell me some program i can use (i have partition magic 8.0) or download for free or something thanks alot

Ok. Format your harddrive and then re-install the operating and do the NTFS format. The FAT system is a unsecure. That might solve your problem.
