I am running win2k server with 3 IDE hard drives, all western digital. After I anstalled and Configured Active Directory, whenwver I boot the server I get 2 warnings in event viewer..
In System log I get I get Event ID 34
the driver disabled the write cache on
device Device\Harddisk0\DR0In Directory Service I get Event ID 1094
disk write caching on drive c: has been disabled to prevent possible data loss during system failureI have enabled disk write caching in disk properies for drive c: but whenever I reeboot the server, it is again disabled and I get those messages has anyone come across this and or resolved it

I have had the same problem, Win2k Professional and Server. If you go to the System folder there should be three entries.
I have a Dell CSx and it only had two entries in the system folder under system/hardware/device Manager check the entries under IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers I have a Primary, Secondary and A Intel Bus Master IDE Controller, when I had the error there were only two entries Priomary and Secondary. Win2k does not seem to recognize all of the hardware. But you have to know what the System Bus Master controller you have in your system and install it.

Harddisk Write cache and Active Directory.
The Hardisk who Active Directory is installed is not permitted Write cache.
But only who AD is instaled (See folder:SYSVOL). Another HD, or Partition is permited.
