For a few days a got a used computer from a friend! AMD K7 500MHz. I inserted my Harddisk from PII an all the other components(Graphic Souncard). The Disk has two partitions WIN98 and WIN2000. Under WIN98,no problem but starting WIN2000 there is the following error message: inaccessable_boot_device.

Maybe somebody has an answer? Thank's

Did you check your BIOS settings for the used computer?

W2K will not let you switch the drive it is on to a different computer. If the switch is to an exactly identical one it will quite often let you get away with it.
You will probably have to reinstall W2K.

shove1204: I don't understand about transfer to another machine. I have three friends with AMD/VIA new motherboards that couldn't install W2000 (Hardware conflict notice at black screen). I took their hard drives and their CD's and loaded in my Epox motherboard with an Intel CPU/VIA pro 133A. Added the Via 4in1 drivers, usb filter, service pack 2 and returned the hard drives to them. All three booted perfect and corrected the system files to show their CPU/chipset. They then installed all of their hardware/drivers and have been running for four months. Was this pure luck?

Slight memory fade! I didn't install the Via 4in1 drivers for these friends. They installed these later for their system. I did pre-install the VIA chipset.inf complete folder, so that their chipset version would be recognized during boot. It's hell to get old!
