I have two hardrives (both FAT32)one which has my os and programs on it, and the other with all my documents and stuff. My computer was running smoothly for a while, then one day out of the blue i got a stop error with my ntoskrnl.exe. So i reformatted the C: and re-installed windows. Once i got my os back, i was in shock to see that my d: had many corrupted files and folders and could no longer be accessed. So to my dismay i reformatted that drive too; however this time in NTSF. One month has passed, and i'm starting to notice strange things happening. Every so often (maybe twice a week) some portion of the D: is corrupt or unacessable. I have been using Norton Disk doctor to fix the problems. However sometimes a folder which is corrupt, will no longer be corrupt after a re-boot, which i think is wierd. Anyways most recently two folders had shown up corrupt, being tired of running norton, i decided to fix it in the morning. When i woke up the whole d: was no longer accessable. When i run scan disk it now says it can't scan because of a corrupt master file table. And then to top it off i just got the ntoskrnl.exe error again. I think i fixed the ntoskrnl.exe problem, but i don't know what to do about this hard drive. Is it on its way to being a door stop? or is this the result of some crazy virus? or is this perhaps all a halucination resulting from my compsumption of bad milk? In all seriousness any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I'm on the verge of smashing this thing, but i don't want to loose all my stuff again.

you can try low level formatting..use utilities from the hard drive manufacturers, as they have custom utilities for their drives, just download and run...most are bootable from the start
