I use the same setup as you intend to do with a 400 MHz computer. The hard drive is too small. The boot partition should be about 10 Gb to accomodate future needs.Plan getting a new drive(one 40 Gb should do to work comfortably) and partition it to store your setup programs and downloads.Make those partitions NTFS:the defrag is very efficient and quicker compared to FAT32.The Win2k makes a far better use of RAM than Win9X and overall stability is amazing on a dial-up web connection:256 Mb RAM should be more than enough.I have used a 40 GB drive partitioned in 4 drives:one primary boot drive and 3 extended logical drives. The WINNT folder is about 1.3 GB and the Program Files folder is more than 1 Gb after a few months use.Keep in mind that Win2k is very stable and that you will not have to setup Windows as often as you were used to.If you don't change to a bigger drive the Win2k system will post messages that it has no room to move data around and it will stall a program until you make some room.I have tested Win2k on small drives and it makes a nice conversation piece but is of little use if you intend to do work with the computer. When you install a new drive you use a Windows 9X or ME boot disk to get the partitions done as FAT32.The Win2k setup program will offer you the conversion to NTFS for C drive. When the Windows setup is completed you can convert the other partitions to NTFS without loss provided the drives are kept empty. If you intend to use some dos programs you can keep one of the drives as FAT32.The dos systems do not "see" the NTFS drives.Good luck.
