Comment: In event viewer, my hard drive says it has a bad block. (event ID 7) The hard drive makes funny screeching noises when formating and other such processes. Does any one know how to correct this problem?

Reply: (edit)Buy a new drive or if it is on warranty call the supplier and request a new one.A bad block indicates it is on its way out and a squeal is another excellent indication of that.
