GPEdit.MSC Probe

Hi,
I've played around with GPEdit.Msc (run from the prompt). I have added an auto logon user to Wins 2K and am trying to config it so that when this user logged-on the Run, Help, Search etc do not appear on the start menu. And when other users such as Admin logged on everything is visible.
Someone here suggested to me to try GPEdit.MSC (run it from the prompt). I can get rid of Run, Help, Search etc from the start menu, but this apply to all users. Does anyone know how to set this up so that it's applied to one user only.

No, what you want to do can't be done on a single machine. You'd need to be running a domain and use an Active Directory based group policy to enforce these settings.
There are some techie tricks you can try to use the local group policy (the gpedit.msc) to try and do what you want, but I don't know of anyone that reliably uses it, and it's a tricky setup.
If this is just for a single machine, just log in as the user and customize the Start menu (right-click on the Start button and select Properties). If this is for multiple machines, start a new post and ask about Active Directory domains and what it would take for you to set one up (or research it on the web)...

I think I lied about part of that post. I was thinking about Windows XP when commenting on the Start button....
