How do i specify what users i want policies to be set for using gpedit.msc? Because when i make changes, it changes the account that i am on (administrator) and i don't want that. How do i specify accounts?
you should put the users in OUs (sales, HR, etc.) then set the policies in the OU. GPOs at the domain level effect all users on the domain including admins. right click on the OU | properties | group policy tab

An OU is an Organizational Unit. it helps to subdivide a domain. you can apply GPOs to OUs. they can include users and computers. to create an OU: AD Users & Computers | Right Click on the domain name you want the OU in | New | Organizational Unit
to create a GPO for it: Right click the OU | properties | Group Policy tab
