Ghost.exe backup with USB 2.0 speed

Does any body know how I can get USB 2 speed with a USB 1.1 Dell Latitude laptop I like to create an image of my Harddrive with Ghost.exe in dos and I am writing to a USB 2 200gb drive .DOS regognises the USB 1.1 port but the transfer speed is like molasses 500kb/sec I bought a USB 2.0 4 port Cardbus but DOS does not seem to regognise it

You could always pull the hard drive from the laptop and slave it onto your PC and do the transfer that way. It would be a lot quicker than USB.
All you need is a little adapter you should be able to pick up at most any computer store. A couple phonecalls would tell you availability and price.

Ghost up to version 8 uses a hacked PC DOS for it DOS Boot Disk which along with Ghost.exe has limitations.
You can either experiment with other USB DOS Drivers (unsupported):
http://www.mwpms.uklinux.net/usbfire.htm
or look at True Image from www.acronis.com which is Linux based and therefore has more mature USB support

You could boot from a linux cd which supports your usb 2.0 card then use true image as dosalone suggested or whatever imaging software comes with the distro. MEPIS comes with partimage which is nice and simple to use (or at least 2004.06 does) it also has the best hardware detection/support I've ever seen.
