Ghost2002 must be executed from the DOS prompt for W2K. I have read the manual a number of times and I'm still confused about the Bood Disk that you create in DOS and the program, Gdisk, that you run prior to using this boot disk. Here is what I believe is the procedure. I need confirmation from one of you pros:
1. Create MSDOS boot disk with the Gdisk program on it including the following parameters:
Gdisk /bootini/add/d:1/p:1/desc:windows98/inifile:c:\boot.ini/bsectfile:"***win98***"/r
This changes the boot.ini in C: to add a line to the boot.ini file that will allow bootup from a: with the Win98SE (DOSfiles).
Create the boot disk for Ghost using the first option: Create boot disk with CD/RW support. I will be making an image of my drive and storing in on a CD rom disk.
My Windows2000 Pro installation is set up as follows: I have a small partition of 200 megs on Partition 1 which Windows2000 uses to install the system files on, during installation. Partition 2 (the balance of the hard drive) is where Winnt and all my data is installed.
Please anyone who is familiar with this procedure let me know if I am on the right track. In my opinion, Norton's online help files are lacking in a complete understanding of this exact procedure. However, I just may be interpreting something wrong.
Thanks much for your time and help. LS Sr.
