We are a small missing child non profit with few resources. We received a donation of several laptop computers with no drives and no OS on them - I want to load them with Win 98 SE. They do have network cards. I was told to use a ghost server to load the OS. How do I do this? I do have several computers with Windows XP Professional and our primary server has Windows 2000 Server. Help

You probably don't need a ghost server, but you need to get the laptops to boot up to the network to access a shared resource to install the OS from.

Try this site, I found it useful:

Remote Install Server is a coponent of 2000 server that isn't usually installed by default but can be found in add and remove programs. I'm not sure if it can be used with w98 or just 2k and above but it might be worth looking into. The laptops network cards will also have to either support PXE or be supported by the RIS boot floppy.
The opther alternative is to install one and use something like norton ghost to take an image and write it to the file server to be writen back to the others assuming there all the same. My prefered way for doing a small quantity is using MEPIS linux and partimage.
