Gateway sucks..! etc I just installed Win2k and none of the display drivers I have for my monitor/card etc. are compatible with Win2k. I scoured the net, Chromatic Research Inc. is dead.. the www.Mpact.com site is gone and gateway sucks.. cause they dont have any damn drivers either.. if someone could direct me to some replacement drivers or something to give me better resolution than 640x480 and 16 colors.. that would be great!!!

From what i know... the video card is a STB nitro.. not sure what all about it is.. cause i recieved no real info on it. I have display drivers from Mpact for 98/NT. In both OS' they work but neither work for win2k. "The STB NITRO DVD video adapter uses the Chromatic Research MPACT2 Media 352SBGA chipset" this is from the stb site. I need to know if there is any alternative display drivers for win2k. This is a real pain and shitty ass gateway. "We dont support any OS that did not ship with the system. Bah I say..

Just wanted to add that I agree about Gateway Computers. I just bought a new Performance 866 and it is only two months old. The monitor, soundcard, motherboard including a new CPU and RAM, and two modems have been replaced since September 20, 2000. COMPUTER LEMONS..........
I personally hate gateway and work for them and i know that this is not compatable with Win2k. When gateway gets hardware the manufacturer is responsible for the drivers and if they stop updating drivers for it then there is unfortunatly nothing that gateway can or will do. Also you should have checked to see if the hardware was win2k compatible before you EVER installed it alot of hardware is not. Any idiot knows that you have to make sure that your OS and hardware are compatible before mixing the two. Also if you would have read your warranty you would have seen that before you ever got yourself into so much damn trouble. Always protect yourself by knowing the warranty before you screw yourself over.
Summary: The drivers are for windows 2000. Actually even if you try to reinstall drivers that were provided by the windows 2000 installation things still go wrong. No new events are recorded when reinstalling/...
