Comment: Hi, I have a Win2000Server with a FTP site for my home LAN. when i am on a client computer and type ftp localhost at the command prompt it does not connect but the prompt says ftp>. if i ftp 192.222.88.88 from the client, then it works. shouldn't both ways work? or is ftp localhost only used on the server to test that it works?
