Hi, I have a Win2000Server with a FTP site for my home LAN. when i am on a client computer and type ftp localhost at the command prompt it does not connect but the prompt says ftp>. if i ftp 192.222.88.88 from the client, then it works. shouldn't both ways work? or is ftp localhost only used on the server to test that it works?

localhost is 'the machine I'm on' [usually 127.0.0.1].
