FTP file corruption from Solaris

I'm trying to FTP a 5MB binary file from a Solaris machine to a Win2000 machine, using the MS-DOS command line FTP or explorer FTP. I can transfer ascii files no problem, but with either method, using binary or ascii transfer, the files get slightly corrupted (transferring in either direction). They increase in size by about 1-2k, and while they are, for the most part, identical, the differences are enough to prevent them from working. HELP!!
