Since I have a new computer, every time I start it it says "found new hardware" But cannot find drivers, so ends in a question mark. How do I find out what the hardware realyy is, so I can get the driver for it?

Try this...
Click on 'My Computer' on the Desktop.
then, click on 'Control Panel'
open up 'Add/Remove Hardware'
select 'Add/Troubleshoot a device'
once this is selected click next...
After windows searches, a list of device is presented.
-look for one that is presented with a ? beside it.
or see if windows does it by itself...
IF THAT DOESNT WORK!
while in 'Control Panel', click 'System'
while in System select the tab 'Hardware'
click on 'Device Manager'this gives you a complete list of all HardWare found on your computer, look for a hardware with either a "?" or "!" next to it. If it has one, then select it an Windows will look for a driver and you will also know what it is. Once you know that- check online for drivers for the hardware.
Hope this helps.

If it's always listed as an unknown device you may have either onboard motherboard hardware which you'll have to install drivers for or there is a device that has no identifiable information. In the latter case you may resort to removing hardware one at a time, until it disappears. When it does, you'll know what it is and can reinstall it and find drivers for it.
It's only suggested as a last resort though, I know how awkward it is to have to do this.
