Hello,
I'm using MS office 2000, and in Excel i'm trying to come up with a formula combining 'COUNT' and 'IF' but can't seem to get it right. I would like to be able to select a certain amount of cells, and IF something in those cells matches my criteria, then it should COUNT how many times that occurs in those selected cells. Does that make sense? All i seem to get is "#Value" or "0." Can somebody tell me in which order i should do this. Or atleast give me a few pointers on formulas.

in stead of using count and if why not just use "countif" then just highlight the section you want to see if that number is in there and then it will count how many times that number is in that list.
Do this using paste function as it is easy to use.
Hope this helps
