Subject: font or printing problem on Windows 2000 |
Comment: I have a NT network with PC's that are win98 and winy2k. The printer attached to the NT box is a HP laserjet IIId. Using WordPerfect8 on the win98 the fonts are displayed correctly but on the winy2k it substitutes an incorrect font on the same document. On the WP8 app there is a document font mapping screen that does not display anything in the "face" drop down box on winy2k but does display on win98. I noticed on the "printer test pages" that the driver for winy2k is rasdd.dll(ver 3.01) and data format is "raw" and on the win98 the driver is hppcl5ms.drv(ver 4.00) and data format is "emf". Searching on the web I did not find any specific drivers for the laserjet IIId for winy2k.

Reply: (edit)On the drivers thing: if HP doesn't have any listed, then they are either already included with the Windows 2000 OS, or else the printer won't work correctly with Windows 2000. Sounds like if you use the right driver that might fix your font problem (assuming the same fonts are installed on all machines).....

Reply: (edit)Had the same problem with WordPerfect2000 SP3. It was promised that they will resolve this issue in SP4 of WP2000 - though I gave up using WP2000 instead.
