Hey, this is a rather strange question. Does anyone know the Folder ID that refers to the desktop? The one that displays the spiffy desktop icon and will show my computer and network places such as the one in the drop down box for a save/load dialog. Thanks for any help, if anyone knows what I am talking about.

Hi David
I'm clueless about what you are talking about!! LOL
But the "spiffy" desktop icon is contained within explorer.exe file.

I was trying to customize the 'places' sidebar (it is a sidebar in the save/open dialog) in the registry, but I did find that its ID was 0.

Hi David

Okay...je comprends !

If you have TweakUI, then the OPEN tab can customise as to what appears in the Places sidebar.
