hi: I have a e70f viewsonic 17" monitor, which I bought 2 months ago. I noticed a little flicker in the bottom right-hand corner. I didn`t think it would bother me too much so I ignored it. Well about 3 weeks ago the flicker disappeared and I was pretty happy. NOW, the status bar, from history across flickers every 3 or 4 seconds and the little sands of time beside my mouse pointer flickers like crazy. any ideas? any help that you could provide would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Increase your Monitor Refresh Rate, to reduce flickering.
My Computer> Control Panel> Display> Settings> Advanced> Monitor
EsysteNet

You can also change refresh by right clicking on your desktop, select PROPERTIES which brings you to the same applet you bring up from the control panel. Then click ADVANCED > MONITOR then you should see a pulldown menu containing refresh settings.
Typical settings are 60, 70, & 85 Hz, with 60 Hz being the default. Generally, you should use the highest refresh available if you are sensitive to the flicker (I am, so I feel your pain). If 85 Hz is not available, then try reducing resolution, then recheck the available refresh rates.
The amount of video card RAM is the limiting factor when this occurs, and forces the user to sacrifice pixels for headache prevention.
