Comment:

I just configured a W2K Server machine with 7 users and a single 'WORKGROUP' as the workgroup name since this is the ONLY server in this office.

This office setup currently is with SERCOM 8 port hub is connected to the ADSL modem and users get Internet connection concurrently.

Now, I want to connect my new W2K Server to this SERCOM 8 Port hub and connect all 7 users as well.

Now, my question is do I have to assign a static (Fixed) IP address for all other workstatons as well as the machine that runs as the Server ??

Something like :
IP Address : 192.168.0.xx
Subnet Mask : 255.255.255.0
Def. Gateway: 192.168.0.1

Since W2K server have a DHCP server assigned, will it give a IP address as when needed ?
At the moment DHCP server is assigned as 127.0.0.1 by default.

Your reply is much appreciated.

You only have to worry about the server settings, once you have the internet sharing setup, it will assign the sharing server as 192.168.0.1

Then set all you workstations to Auto Assign IP and they will grab the IP once they made a successful connection to the server.
