Hi guys. Im on a netowrk at my place of employment, and I am trying to DL e-books via torrents (legally might I add), but can't seem to connecte due to the fact that I am behind a firewall or proxy server.

Is there anything I can do? Thanks in advance.

Find out what ports needs to be opened and contact your Network Administrator.
