Hi, on the properties page is the 'Find Target' button- which used to work until recently. It now does nothing. This appears to be a registry issue. The PC is clean of viruses and adware, spyware.

I can find no solution searching the internet, although a few others have reported this. I restored an image, still the same problem- the next back is rather too far back (!).

Ideas welcome... this happwned on another PC once before too...

Thanks, David.

reinstall iexplorer.... first restore it if that doesnt work than replace all files when renstalling internet explorer.

try toolbarcop to remove any BMO plugins only, also try resetting iexplorer to default settings.

sometimes when add ons to toolbar like antivirus or google or yahoo, and then removed, leaves links to windows in registry that are broken and misleading, also adding new software for printers and scanners and antivirus's(installed or uninstalled) alter iexplorers settings, and is best to reinstall the program clean, also try rebooting in safe mode, may find different results in virus/spyware scans. :)

Thanks, I've tried that- still no joy.
I uinstalled IE6- Add-remove -> IE5, went to SAFE mode, reinstalled, accepted the option to 'clean up personal settings' - whatever that means!- rebooted to safe mode. Ran a virus scan - ok.

Got toolbar cop, couldn't see anything nasty, uninstalled 3 things I didn't want that were more recent.

Could you be clearer what you meant about 'replacing all files' please?

I've also (having backed up the registry) substituted likely looking keys from my other PC, most without any change, according to Norton Cleansweep. But I know that with a 'new' registry, find target works...! So still stuck.. David.

Find Target started working again after some recent updates- MSXML SP2-> SP3, 893086, 893066, 890859, 890923 (for IE6 SP1). I was convinced this was registry related after swapping registry information, but it works again.
