I have a LAN connections which is linked together and my server was installed with WIN2k server version, client was installed with win98SE.... My current server is mainly for DATAs storage, but i'd found a problems that my client pc cannot access to server's shared folder after rebooted. The Server name can be seen in Network Neighborhood but can't access.
Suspected problems:-
- I'm kinda new in WIN2k settings.....i wonder my server's folder sharing is correct or not. Can anyone tell me how to Add a sharing permission to a workgroup. izzit adding one by one with the computer name?- Anyone can help me to find out a correct way to configure my network settings?
Thanks to who ever willing to help me...

This can be a problem caused by the time setting. The kerberos in Win2k only allows a few minutes time scew. Set the same GMT setting and the same date and time.

i have same setup. but when i try to access the share folder on the server i get a password screen i enter the administrator password for the server and then get an message stating i do not have permission to access the share. my server is ntfs and the client is fat32. on the server i see that these folders c,e,$ipc etc are shared yet for some reason can't access. any ideas

I've the static IP.... and i found the reason for my limitted folder access already.
it's b'cos my copy of Win2k is Win2k pro but not server edition. and thanks for everyone who reply to me.....Tommy.Lucid, mind to give me ur email addrs? i've few questions to ask u. :)
Tom, i met the same problems with u before, when i'm using NT4. I still can't figure out what $IPC is...but u can try to use C instead of C$ in your shared dir name. :)
