i wrote a program in visual basic 6.0 and i prepared a cd for the program. when i run it on win 98 /95 it works well, but when i run it on win 2000 professional it does not work. the problem being when i try to read a file from floppy(dos 6.2 formatted)for the first time, it says file not found(file is present) but for the second time it reads it properly. we have two systems running 2000 professional on one system this problem is coming on the oter system program is running fine.i think this may be the problem of settings. please help me out to solve this problem........

If the problem is only on the one floppy drive then I suspect the drive itself, not the OS. It may be that you can fiddle with the timeouts for reading the file from floppy, it sounds like it is not reading in time then quits trying, then on the 2nd try finds it.
