Hi,

I've 4 partitions on my hard-disk. Today,
while trying to access one drive/partition,
I got the following message:
------
"The Volume does not contain a recognized file system. Please make sure that all required file system drivers are loaded and that the volume is not corrupted."
-------

Could anyone let me know how to fix this problem without formatting this drive?

Appreciate any response!!

Thanks,
Bhaskar

could try running chkdsk on that partition

right click the my computer icon > Manage > in the left hand pane choose disk management > then in the right hand pane choose the drive and or partition > right click > properties > tools > error checking

check now>>>

and could go from there ,,, there is also an option for formating the drive,,,

MSI 845e mb 768 mb ram and a p4 2.4n running xp ,win 2000 advanced server and win 98 SE alot to learn and I know so little !!!!
