file share over VPN

OS: windows 2000 pro
CPU/Ram: p2-350, 256mb

I set up a VPN with 2 W2K pro machines, we are able to connect to each other but are unable to view the file shares. Permissions are set correctly.

We do not have a server involved just 2 ISP connections, one is DSL and the other is 56k.

I have read on other postings to name a WINS server but I do not have a WINS server.

Any thoughts?
