File Names

Does anyone know why W2K changes file names by putting an upper case letter at the beginning of the file name when it is saved (but not all the time). This doesn't matter most of the time, but it does when I want to load files on to my Linux server. Thanks.

According to Microsoft Windows displays the names of files and folders with only the first letter capitalized. This is done by design for readability purposes and to make them more visually pleasing. For example, if you create a folder named "C:\ALLINCAPS" Windows will actually display it as "C:\Allincaps". You can disable this feature in the registry by editing the following key:
Create a new DWORD value called "DontPrettyPath" and set it to equal [1] to display the file using the original capitalization or [0] to let Windows adjust the caps. The value should look like this:
Default) REG_SZ value not set) DontPrettyPath REG_DWORD 0x00000001 (1)
