Comment:

I have a small home network at home consisting of 4 desktops and a server, would it be wise to shut off "file and print sharing"? and if so how could I access the drives on the other clients? I use a logon script to access these drives but what good is it if I can not really access them?

the only reasons I can think of to turn off F + P sharing on your network are:

1) if some of the pc's are used by other people (whom you don't trust) - basically if you don't want them accessing your files

2) if you're not running any anti-virus software. Alot of viruses spread via shared network resources.

But if you turn off F+P sharing you won't be able to access any files except on your local drive
