Comment:

I would like to set up desktop faxing on our NT4 LAN. I can dedicate a PC and modem to it. I do not want to buy extra hardware and am looking for an inexpensive solution. Is there some network fax software that allows faxing from the desktop BUT also allows:
1.sending of existing Word docs without having to scan them in?
2.distributes incoming faxes to users (difficult I know!)
Thanks in advance.

I use FaxNow. www.redrocktechnologies.com

Simple to setup and use.

Can be pricey if you have a large number of users.

Will run on an existing server and is easy on resources, so no new h/w needed.

To distribute incoming faxes you need a DDI pbx. If each users telephone accepts direct dial in calls (without having to go through the switch first), the faxes can be distributed. Otherwise you can set FaxNow to print incoming faxes.

You can fax any document from within the doc's application by "printing" to the FaxNow printer driver installed during setup.

HTH.
