Inaccessable boot device on dell 8200
Windows 2000 Professional, works fine in the dell 8100. when i plug it in to my dell 8200 i get the '0x7B Inaccessable Boot Device" message. I want to get rid of the dell 8100 but will not be able to until i can get this drive to work in the dell 8200. any help would be appreciated. thanks.

The hardware is different. You can't just remove a drive from one model of machine, put it into a different one, and expect it to work. You could boot to the CD and run a repair of the OS, that would install the proper drivers for that hardware.

OK, but I have another Windows 2000 Professional Hard Drive (I have 4 hard drives from my 8100, two with XP Pro and two with W2K Pro), and the other 3 did not have any problems, to include the other W2K Professional. The appropriate drivers were installed, and when I put the three drives back in the 8100 the drivers were installed also. Just the one drive do I get this error with it.
