Yes. In fact, as long as you're in 2000 you can move/copy files from FAT32 to NTFS and vice versa...be they local or remote drives.

I do know that files can be copies from NTFS to FAT32. But in FAT32 system, the NTFS drive does not seem to be visible. So how do you copy the files and paste into NTFS drive(Partition)?
Can give me some guides.
Thanks you.

In a dual boot situation where you have say 98 and 2000 sharing the same computer. You won't be able to see the NTFS partition(s) when booted in 98. However, you can see both FAT32 and NTFS when booted in 2000. While booted in 2000 you can move files between the different partitions without any trouble. I have both NTFS and FAT32 partitions on both hard drives in this machine and move/copy files back and forth between them without any trouble.

In a network environment, a FAT32 based computer can access NTFS partitions because it's doing so remotely. It's only locally (on that computer) that a 98 operating system can't see an NTFS partition.

So, to sum up....to move/copy files from FAT32 to NTFS, or vice versa, you would have to be either:
A) Booted in 2000/XP to access locally
or
B) You would need to access the NTFS partition(s) remotely across a network while booted with a 9x/ME operating system.

I hope this helps.

Or you could get a driver for 98 to read the NTFS partitions at: http://sysinternals.com/ntw2k/freeware/ntfswin98.shtml

If you want to read/write from 98 to the NTFS partitions, then you can pay for the software.
