I've had EZ CD5 running on Win2k. Had a problem with Win2k so re-installed. Now EZ CD 5 won't install. Am using SP2. All I can think of is that patches for Ez5 are still in system somewhere and original EZ5 won't install as its a previous version? After running setup it initializes and then dissappears and stops installing. Any suggestions?

Search the registry for traces of ECDC5. Try downloading "Registry Detective", which will find ALL traces of a search including binary codes that still may be in the registry.

Your problem may be related to the Take Two option in EZ 5. You need to install the patch after install but prior to rebooting the system.
This is a common problem and is listed in the Alerts located at the Roxio website.Since it's a Roxio product why not go to Roxio.com and see what issues they have resolved. Believe me they are aware of the problem.
I am running win2k pro and have no problems with EZ5 because I went to Roxio site and read up on any known issues prior to install. A good habit to get into.Good Luck.

Thanks. But still doesn't resolve problem, ez5 won't even install, gets to the windows installer then just dies way and stops, task manager shows SETUP still running. Checked c:\.....\local settings\temp found lots of .msi files from failed attempts, deleted everything in folder and even tried setting up a new user but still no go?!?!?

I'm having the same problem with XP. It's not the cd because I have installed it on another machine and this current machine before. Have also tried a friends LEGIT cd to no avail. The cd works flawlessly on other machines also (only as a test to see if it WAS the cd, of course). I'll go to Roxio to see if they're aware of this issue as was suggested.

i too am having the same problem win win2k sp2, it is driving me $%^^$% insane!!!
