i thought win2k was stable, but every once in awhile i get explorer.exe errors, causing the start bar to disappear momentarily and then come back again, only with a few of the icons in my system tray gone. this happens whenever i want to open a file, quite randomly and unexpectedly. i am running norton antivirus 2001. why does this happen? it is quite annoying...

thanks in advance

Try uninstalling Norton Antivirus.

I have the same problem. i am running win2k server, and when i open eplxorer windows over a network, they crahs all of the time and clsoe down all of the explorer windows and taskbar. it does however leae open the current programs that i am working in. when explorer restarts, it however doesn't open up the windows that i was in. this is especially frustrating when i am copying files over the lan. if anyone knows a fix, please help by sending an email.

This is exactly what is happening to me. I've tried to find out what causes it, but to no avail. Anyone have any ideas?
