On my desktop everything is fine. However, in windows explorer (win2k) I have a "recycle bin" with no associated icon (this one works as a recycle bin) and I also have a regular folder by the name "recycled." They are both system folders - unable to delete either one. The recycled folder has a file in it called - some long weird code name - and this file was the actual recycle bin folder with no associated icon. Now I have two system folders on my C: drive... one is a recycle bin with no icon, the other is a folder that contains a weird named file that was my recycle bin. All these folders and files I had mentioned are system files. HELP!!! I just want my good old recycle bin back, nothing else.

I believe what you are looking at is "Recycle Bin" and "Recycler". What you see in recycler are the individual users recycle bins, so to speak. With multiple user accounts on the same PC the OS needs a way to recognize which user is sending what to the Recycle Bin. You wouldn't want me as user X to be able to empty your user Y Recycle Bin.
The "long weird code name" is made up from the users SID associated with that particular user. You have nothing to be concerned about and nothing needs to be deleted...your Recycle situation is as it should be.
