Hi guys,
I have this fairly new problem.
I like to mess with my computer (as you can see it's quite old), but I still like Windows to run well.
Recently, I have had trouble with hibernation caused by NTFS journal errors (linux) and NVidia display. I have also had multiple BSODs on boot.
These have been solved by mostly fiddling.
Now, whenever I try to shutdown my computer, explorer has an error dialog and the memory referenced cannotbe read. Any ideas?
BTW, this is not stopping the shutdown, just gettiung in the way.

Take a look at the Event Log, to figure out, which service or program is responsable for that error message.

At the desktop rightclick at My Computer and choose Manage.
This will open the management console.
Under System you'll find Event Log.Paul

I beleive this can be caused by malware. It could also be because the RAM is not sufficient for that machine, or bad RAM.
NTFS permissions can help lock down a machine far better than any AntiVirus app can.
