Please help me solve this problem, I have windows 2000 Pro, SP 2, IE 6.0, Direct x8 and all the software is updated, I start getting an explorer.exe error when trying to search for a file or folder, I have over 40 GB of data so its really hard to work without the find file option, -I think- the problem started after the installation of MS Office XP Pro, microsoft recommended to install SP2 to fix the problem but its still the same problem, please email me if can help. its really very important.

Thanks in Advanced
Khaled

Try REinstalling your Internet Explorer. And also remember that IE 6.0 is still beta and may not work 100%.....

Yeah, the IE 6 is out, just found that out after I had posted. My bad.

You might try reinstalling Service Pack 2 for Windows 2000 and then after that's done try reinstalling your office. Maybe something has just gotten corrupted or overwritten.
Also, poke around in your Event Viewer to see if there have been any errors recorded. Maybe start a new post with any extra info....

Thanks Lucid,
I installed the service pack 2, Office XP, DirectX 8.0, and IE 6, but I still have the same problem, a friend told me to change the memory, do you think that may cause the explorer errors? I have a P4 1.4 GHz system with 256 MB of RAM, everything else is working perfectly, I think if its a Memory problem I will recieve more errors, please let me know what do you think?
I have a big problem, I have to use the MS-DOS Prompt to find files which is not exactly the tool I need.
Thanks a lot for your time and waiting for your reply.
