Hi,
Sometimes, when I try to open an excel file, I receive the following error:
Microsoft Excel cannot open or save any more documents because there is not enough available memory or disk space .
- To make more memory available, close workbooks or programs you no longer need.
- To free disk space, delete files you no longer need from the disk you are saving toI have a fast processor (2Ghz) and lots of RAM (512MB) so what could be the reason for recieving this error ??
If I click ok, and try to open the file again, it opens okay.
Also, it's not on just one excel file, it happens with them all on odd occasions !!Any help would be greatly appreciated !!

I have had that problem before. Are any other programs opened up when you try to open the excel file? If there are, try closing some of them to free up some memory for the excel file. By any chance is the Excel file a huge file size? That could also be hogging a lot of memory, but it shouldn't give you an error because with 512mb you should be able to open that file alone.
Hope that helps.
Kevin.

I also have that happen from time to time, I went to MS and did an update on Office 97, there's an sp2, I think, and that helped.
