I have a Pentium III running Windows. However the processor usage is 90% when i have no applications running. I looked in task manager and it seems to be a program named evntsvc.exe running the most usage.. The only way to stop it is to end task. But its bad having to do this every time i start windows. Does anyone know what it could be ? Many help for peoples help in advance.

You need to edit the startup items. If you'd like you can download the MSconfig that came with Windows XP and install it into Windows 2000. The MSconfig allow you to edit startup items and services. To download MSconfig.zip Click Here
