Anybody knows anything about evntsvc.exe?

The Scheduler is also used to automatically launch RealNetworks Media Type Helper. If a media type has been assigned a different action by a different application, Media Type Helper may override the association and substitute its own association consistent with RealNetworks policies regarding Ask-Tell-Help. If you select “More Info”, information on the file type (e.g., .MP3) and overriding application is sent to RealNetworks. So has anyone figured out how to get rid of evntsvc.exe? I tried getting rid of it using msconfig, but good ol' RealNetworks puts it back every time I start RealOne.

This worked under Windows ME: -- Delete the "TkBellExe" entry in [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run]. -- Re-boot. Now evntsvc.exe won't be an active task, which enables you to -- Rename evntsvc.exe to e.g. _evntsvc.exe_. (I haven't wiped it because I would like to see how long it takes Ad-Aware to discover it.) If you start RealOne now, it might place that entry back into the registry. But as there's no such executable as evntsvc.exe anymore, it has no effect. The system information tool will show, that even after having used RealOne and performed a restart since, evntsvc.exe is no active task. Ta-dah!
