Event Viewer Problems

I have two servers on a network that sometime ago the event viewer stopped showing information and alerts under system, does anyone know what caused this or how to fix it. At the same time I could browse my mf server by name but now I have to specify its ip address.

try this from command prompt or from run menu

eventvwr.msc ,and c whether it opens.

Or try checking with other user profile
