Error when trying to install Ati Rage 128 Pro driver downloaded from Ati website for Windows 2000
Error message when trying to update Ati Rage 128 Pro drivers in Windows 2000
Remedy:Try this it worked for me.
Right-click My Computer
Click on Properties
Click on Hardware Tab
Click on Device Manager
Double-click on display adapter to bring up properties.Click on Driver Tab
Click on Update Driver
Click Next
2 choices, pick botton one: (Display list of known drivers so that I can choose a specific driver)
Click Next
Highlight ATI under Manufactuers
Under Models, Click on Rage Pro
Next
Finish
Reboot system and you should be able to change settings now.This took me a while to figure out, Whew am I glad thats over, just wished they would tell you to do that on the Ati website! Hope you have luck with this.

I don't think you installed the actual ATI driver. More than likely you installed the generic Win2K driver. Check the driver version.

You may need to update the DirectX version prior to updating the Graphics drivers.
You should be running Win2000 SP4 plus any post SP4 updates.
