error loading operating system

I got the blue erroe screen, and restarted. My laptop gave me the error loading operating system message and is completely locked up. I can't even boot into safe mode. I can't boot off the CD. I am stuck. Please, any help would be fantastic.

Hi,
Can you boot from floppy? If so, try to get a bootfloppy for win2000 from another pc.
PS. Try to find on the manufactores page how to acces the bootsetup. I have had 3 notebooks, and all were different. My HP used the "esc"key, a Toshiba used the "c"key, and so on..... Here you can select the bootsequence.
If in the setup....use repair win2000 and everyting will work again...

I think my hard drive has some serious issues. I tried booting from the loppy drive and got a disk I/O error = 00001005 message. From the looks of it, something has happened to my hard drive, but I didn't hear the hard drive "crash" sound. I am really hoping that this can be fixed but it's not looking so good.

Change ur boot sequence first and make ur floppy is the first one to boot.(Depends on ur laptop) Press F2, Del to see and change the post.Then boot from floppy use ur 4Win 2K boot up disks to start then use ur cd-rom to finalize the installation.
