i'm using partition magic 7 on win2000 pro.

trying to unallocate free space so i can create an additional partition. when my system reboots to apply the changes i get error: error 58, unable to write to boot sector when it is trying to create the unallocate the free space.

please help.

You have either Antivirus software running which you should disable before performing such an operation or your antivirus protection in your BIOS is turned on. To change this press DEL at boot change and save.

i have disabled the anti virus at the windows level. where do i see if it exists in the bios?
