I am logged in as administrator. In Control Panel - Add/Remove Programs, Adobe Reader 6.0 shows up only as a folder. So I assume that I still need to do the setup. When I execute the Setup from the folder, it eventually asks me if I want to Repair or Remove. I select Repair. I then decides that, indeed, it needs to install Acrobat Reader 6.0. When it is nearly finished installing, I stops and give me an error message: "Adobe Reader 6.0 Installer Information. Error 1926. Could not set file security for file C:\Config.Msi\. Error: 5. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to modify the security permissions for this file."
I have complete permission for the entire drive and folders. However, I don't find a file called Config.Msi. Should I have one or is it trying to create it and can't match permissions (from Administrator) with the yet-to-be created file?

Instead of running the repair, try simply removing the program (from add/remove programs), reboot, and then reinstall it. The installation obviously got messed up the first time or you wouldn't be having these problems. Running 'setup' in the Adobe program folder is nowhere near the same thing as running the original installation file over. Two totally different animals.
