Comment:
Windows 2000 erases settings after each reboot
example i adjust my desktop settings to 1024x768 and auto arrange my icons or i download programs and install them and after i reboot the programs are uninstalled and gone and all the setting i just made are gone
i have admin priv what do i need to change to get windows to save my settings?

It sounds like you have yourself set up with a "mandatory profile".

If you're not sure what that is, research it at MS's knowledge base. If that is the case, it's easy enough to undo and allow your changes to be saved.

can you tell me how to undo a mandatory profile? at least for my admin account thats really all i want to fix.
the other users dont need to change anything.
