Epson scanner not working

Hi,
I have an Epson expression 1640xl scanner, connected to a usb hub to my pc. I can't scan anything from this scanner. I can use the preview mode but when I'm going to start scanning there's a window that pops up saying make sure the scanner is connected properly. Appreciate any help on this.

i had the exact same problem, the only way i found i could rid of it involved 2 new pieces of software. You can use one or the other. Basically, Windows XP got rid of the problem for me, but before that when i was running under windows 2000 i installed Photoshop 6 and it somehow fixed the problem.
I believe it could be to do with the Twain drivers, i should try getting the new twain5.5 from Epson.com
