Since switching over from a paralel to a USB, my printer seems to execute the afore mentione error on every boot. I still have a scanner plugged into the LPT1 port on the back & I wanted to separate my printer from scanner to lighten any IRQ problems that might arrise. Hey guys/gals? Any ideas?---Dan---:)

Epsom has different drivers for LPT and USB operation, remove the drivers/software etc for the printer, turn off PC. Plug only the scanner in and boot-up, if you are happy the scanner is working, shut down. Restart computer and install printer the way Epson recommend in the pop-up window which appears when put cd in.............

Dear x86,
I did as you suggested , but to no avail I still get that windows failed to load driver [epson] on startup. Scanner works fine & the printer sometime only prints 1/2 page. Thanx 4 your suggestions anyway. I guess what I find hard to understand is how can Windows report a missing driver when the software has been removed & the unit unplugged? Thanx again---Dan---:)

You need to clear out your startup menu etc of references to Epson software, there is software available to clear dead entries, but they can cause problems and personally do noy use them....
Try doing a SEARCH for epsom in files and folders and see what it shows...........
Good Luck

Dear x86,
I tried per your suggestion & I musta missed something. I even followed the "Eventlog" instruction.="At lest one driver failed during system startup: use event viewer to examine event details". I clicked on & selected filter [after highlighting one of the events & I still got the warning.. I guess we have a bit of a phantom here huh?---Dan---:)
