Envelope & Sound in Outlook XP

I recieve e-mails from mailing lists and Yahoo Groups and so forth, and I'd perfer if I didn't see the envelope icon in the system tray and hear a sound when they came in.
How do I make it so I don't see the envelope icon and it doesn't play a sound when I get those e-mails, but shows the icon and plays the sound for others?
