howdy-
Heres the problem, I am running a small network, Windows 2000 Server w/ MS Exchange 2000, then a few laptop pcs connected to that. After creating my user account, etc on exchange, I can send out email from the client pc. However, when someone replys to it, they get the below error. I registered a public domain (www.lillyspad.net) and thus created an email account andrewl@lillyspad.net. [I registered it at www.itsyourdomain.com] I can also send/receive email fine from my ISP provider (charter.net) andrewl@charter.net. Where is the dns problem, I contacted my ISP they referred me to www.itsyourdomain.com. In addition, I am sitting behind a Linksys so I am using NAT, I thought maybe it was blocking smtp requests but i can send/receive email with my pop3 charter account.----- The following addresses had permanent fatal errors ----- (reason: 553 sorry, that domain isn't in my list of allowed rcpthosts (#5.7.1)) ----- Transcript of session follows ----- ... while talking to mail.lillyspad.net.: >>> RCPT To: ... User unknown

You are probably right about having incoming email blocked by your linksys. Check out there site on how to open up the proper ports to allow smtp/pop3 email to come through. Also, depending on your ISP, they may have those ports blocked. I know my ISP did that for at least the residential users. One more suggestion. There is a website devoted entirely to exchange issues. There site address is www.msexchange.org. There is a link to there message board near the top of the site. I think it's in red and on the upper right hand side of the site. Hope this helps.

In the Exchange 2000 System Manager there is a setting called recipient policy under recipients on the left (or something like that). Add your domain name to the default policy by clicking the new button. Then go to recipient update services and right click and update.
